Pretty much applies to all those folks who campaign on making change and how they will be more open than the previous ‘seat warmer’ in order to get elected, because they want to call the shots ensuring control.
TAG was formed because of the proposed $2 million fire hall which the community rejected. Those making the decisions as to what information TAG sent out emails, provided pamphlets with graphs and figures comparing the costs of Union Bay Taxpayers compared to Deep Bay. TAG had statistics backing the criticism of the number of ‘in camera’ meetings and cast doubt on the existing Board as to their abiding by the rules for such meetings. TAG convinced the majority of the community the Improvement District was not operating as it should and eventually replaced previous non TAG members and proudly announced it was a “TAG Board”.
TAG’s first members were elected in April 2010. So here we are in 2013 and there doesn’t seem to be any difference from the previous Boards. TAG criticized the previous Board and yet things have not changed. TAG has followed the previous Boards actions and is planning on spending a bundle of your money building their legacy.
